Chilewich Overshot Woven Rug (Butterscotch)
Chilewich Overshot Woven Rug (Butterscotch)
With lively yet refined rows of interlocking concentric circles, Overshot is a contemporary interpretation of traditional textiles. It is named for a weave structure with a long history and a distinctive construction: as the weft yarn jumps or "shoots" over the foundational plain weave of the warp yarns, a decorative pattern layer is created. This design takes inspiration from vintage American coverlets. Used as the topmost covering on a bed and distinct from quilts, these woven textiles were especially popular during the early to midnineteenth century. The earliest examples were made with an overshot weave, and this craft continues today. Made from woven textiles, our floor mats are durable, versatile beautiful and easy to clean. Perfect for use in entryways, dining areas, bedrooms, living areas and kitchens.

- Do not iron. Do not machine wash. Do not use Acetone, Pine-Sol, or citrus-based cleaners as they can damage or discolor the Chilewich products.
- Avoid use of rubber castors or placing objects made of rubber on the woven floormat; discoloration will occur.
- May be used on radiant heated floors provided the temperature does not exceed 85°F/30°C. When moving or storing, roll up your mat with weave facing outward.
- Spot cleaning: Vacuum to remove loose dirt. If necessary, follow up with a residential carpet cleaner or damp mop the surface. Lift the mat off the floor and allow face and backing to air dry completely before placing the mat on the floor again.
- Blot spills quickly with a lint-free cloth. Deep cleaning: Use a carpet cleaning machine that scrubs the surface of the floormat and simultaneously vacuums away the soiled water and detergent. Lift the mat off the floor and allow face and backing to air dry completely before placing the mat on the floor again.
- We recommend that you occasionally lift and air out your woven floormat, which will allow both your mat and the flooring surface to ventilate and stay dry. This will prevent moisture and contaminants from discoloring the floor or the back of the floormat.
- When placed atop a textured surface, the latex backing of your mat may become abraded. This will not affect the woven face of the mat or its performance. A rug pad may be used to prevent this issue. Care and Maintenance (Outdoor)
- Chilewich woven mats can be used outdoors and will perform well with proper maintenance.
- Best suited on dry surfaces.
- As with indoor use, make sure to air out the mat occasionally by turning it over. All Chilewich mats are made with the latest color technology to prevent fading. But, like all textiles, the mats may fade when placed in full sun for protracted periods.
- When placed atop a textured surface, the latex backing of your mat may become abraded. This will not affect the woven face of the mat or its performance. A rug pad may be used to prevent this issue.
